Do traffic exchanges really work? So many people want to get the answer to that question. There are always many people surfing on them, but do those people ever pay any attention to your ad?
Well first I want to say, No the majority of the poeple surfing on a traffic exchange are not there trying to find anything. In fact almost anyone on a traffic exchange is there for the same reason. And, that reason is to advertise their product, service, or opportunity. One of the first things I was told when I was introduced to the world of the Traffic Exchange is “Don’t look at the other peoples ads.” And most surfers on traffic exchanges are doing their best to follow this advice. This can be a little discouraging to most of us. But wait
Ok, so what is the point of using a Traffic Exchange in that case? Well first you have to consider why I was given that advice. The person that told me that, didn’t want me to jump to another opportunity. And of course this points out the fact that they considered it a possibility, which says that it had happened in the past.
So, yes Traffic Exchanges can bring results for you. The next question is, “How do I make them bring results?” There are a few things to consider when trying to get the most out of your traffic exchange experience. First you have to get a splash page that has a good potential to get attention in 20 to 40 seconds. For this, you could ask a friend to look at it, and give you their oppinion. Unfortunately, this may be viewed as a sales tactic, so if you do use this technique be certain to make plain to them that you just want their oppinion on the quality and “attention grabbing” potential of the ad.
The key to getting a traffic exchange to bring results for you is to bring attention to your page. One thing that brings more attention to your ad is audio. But you have to be careful, as some TE’s (traffic exchanges) do not allow audio or video.
Another thing to think about is the traffic exchange itself. There are a few different styles of traffic exchanges. Most ask you to match a picture to one of a small selection. Once you make the correct choice you will be automatically directed to the next page. This is the most common style, and it usually has a theme. For example one may have different vegetables or trees etc. While these may be slightly amusing, they hardly help to direct your attention to what you are doing.
One of the more popular ones uses strings of letters that the surfer has to read and then match. Or even the occasional simple additon or subtraction problem that the reader has to solve. This helps by actually making the surfer think.
Another version that seems to be gaining in popularity is one that makes the surfer write a short add with a short header that links to their page as part of the set-up. This is helpful for a few reasons. One is this gives you another chance to grab attention. As this style requires the surfer to choose from several of these ads. So, once the surfer clicks on your ad, they have already chosen yours over the others on the page. This style, too has some obvious advantages.
You also want to make sure that the site you are sending the surfers to, or the sign up pages are informative. You don’t want people to sign up, just to find out that they don’t want to do what they signed up for. This won’t help either of you
The last thing you have to consider is how much time you are willing to devote to traffic exchanges. Remember that the more time you invest in this, the better your results will be.
